Marka Stewart

Hi, my name is Mark. No, not Marka, and definitely not Marka Stewart. So why is that the title of my blog?

A few years ago, my wife and I were preparing to host a dinner party, and I guess I got a little carried away with table settings. I spied these mini, individual salt-and-pepper shakers, and plotted to acquire some for Thanksgiving dinner so that each guest had their own salt and pepper shakers (I don’t know about you, but I sometimes feel bad asking someone at one of the table to pass the salt.)

Next, I found individual butter dishes. My wife sighed, and said, “I’m going to start calling you Mark-a Stewart.”

I’ve always been fond of homekeeping, in particular cooking, gardening, canning and pickling, and smoking fish that I catch myself. Admittedly, I don’t have the aptitude for all things home-related. Just ask my wife what happens when I do the laundry. 😉

I started this blog is to document my journey in the homekeeping arena. I’ll share my progress and successes. No doubt I’ll make mistakes, which I’ll also document and share any learnings from. And I hope you’ll learn along with me.
