Spring planting is finally wrapping up, and the garden is really coming together. This year I added a nectarine tree and a lilac bush — both from Flower World in Snohomish — and the hostas I got from a friend last year are doing beautifully. I also spread straw throughout the beds to help keep the weeds down, picked up from Greenhouse Megastore.
Here’s what’s in the ground so far:
Vegetables: Peas, bush beans, long beans, radishes, artichokes, tomatoes (Roma, beefsteak, and Black Cherry), lettuce, spinach, carrots, zucchini, taro, yellow onions, shallots, leeks, asparagus, celery, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and strawberries.
Herbs: Rosemary, oregano, dill, sage, cilantro, parsley, and chives.
Fruit trees: Nectarine, three figs, and a Honeycrisp apple.
